About Ijaza
Ijaza is a School Psychologist and Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP) who enjoys working with children, adolescents, and adults. She is passionate about helping people better understand themselves, recognize their strengths, and develop practical tools for navigating life’s challenges.
Clients and families may come to Ijaza for support with anxiety, depression, stress, emotional regulation, life transitions, or concerns connected to attention, learning differences, and school experiences. Her background in school psychology helps her understand how academic demands, learning needs, and day-to-day experiences can affect emotional wellbeing.
When working with children, Ijaza incorporates play and developmentally appropriate activities to help them express emotions, practice coping strategies, and build confidence. She also values partnering with parents and caregivers so the work can continue beyond the therapy session.
What Working Together Looks Like
She begins by taking time to understand each person’s concerns, strengths, goals, and day-to-day experiences. Using CBT-informed strategies, she helps clients notice connections between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors while building practical tools that can support meaningful change outside of sessions.
With children, therapy may include play and developmentally appropriate activities that make it easier to express emotions, practice coping strategies, and build confidence. When appropriate, Ijaza works collaboratively with parents and caregivers to help reinforce progress at home and in daily routines.
Therapy moves at a pace that respects each client’s needs. The goal is to create space for both the challenges that bring someone to therapy and the progress they make along the way.
